Hurray for a Seminar!

It was a sunny day. All of us got ready early because today we will participate in the 1st ASEAN Teachers and Students’ Seminar of Senior High School 10 Padang, West Sumatra at the Governor’s Office. First, we went to SMP 10 Padang to grace their program which is called “Tenlicious 6th”. The event already started when we got there. I was really left at wonder because of their different unique segments such as how they welcome their guest. They kind of have this ritual where they let you eat a piece of leaves as a symbol of their warm welcome. We also witnessed their traditional dance. They were so graceful and their costumes were lovely. After their program we headed to the Governor’s Office to go to the International Seminar. The participants are the different students from different high schools in Padang. They gave us a kit and even snacks were provided. We sat in with the students. The setting was 1 buddy and 1 participant each table. We chatted with the students in our table and I tried to learn Bahasa Indonesia from them. It was so much fun. The rest of the program went smooth although I did not understand most of the speakers since they are using their native language.
